The stories in the student’s book provide the environment for natural language acquisition by using the daily life of the students to construct meaning and deliver the language. The main character is a little boy named Johnny, who invites the students to join in his day-to-day activities and learn with him during his adventures. The complexity of the stories and the language use increase at every level keeping up with the students’ age and skills.

Teacher's Book

The Teacher’s Book brings clear and detailed lesson plans with the linguistic objectives and the vocabulary for each lesson. The teacher receives the content with a clear routine, so that the experience of learning is positive and the quality of the lessons is guaranteed.

Students during circle time gather to share what they know and learn new concepts. The content worked presents everyday objects and situations familiar to the students to foster listening, spontaneous speech, attention and socialization, always in English.

The activities use the content of the stories, mathematics and vocabulary in a fun way to stimulate linguistic understanding. All the material necessary to develop the activities in class is provided for the teacher, so teaching is his only concern!

Busy bag

The busy bags are hands on activities created to develop curious minds and entertain small hands. The activities are conceived to revise in a fun way the content learnt by recycling the activity, encouraging the student to use his linguistic knowledge to rework the activity in a different way every time.

Songs and routine chants associated to movements create connection between language and its use, also known as TRP - one of the methods used to create a natural language acquisition environment.

Who doesn’t like a good game? Games foster group participation encouraging the students to use what they learnt in the classroom to play. They involve laterality, movement direction and motivate students to listen and follow direction and so develop fluency in English.

Flashcards, illustrated with vocabulary items from the stories and activities, help the students remember the words and gain fluency.

Johnny comes to the class to assist the teacher and tell the students about his adventures.

Teacher training

Teacher training

Teacher training will be done in person and there will be supervisions throughout the year. The objective during teacher training is to familiarize the teacher with Johnny’s World and its methodology. Supervisions aim to promote continuous teacher training and ensure lesson quality.

Online support and materials

Online support and materials

On the website the teacher will find online tutorials and help when questions or doubts arise. Help is available via chat and e-mail. Also when needed extra activities are available online.
